§     Consultant through Midwest Consulting Group assigned to Sprint. 

§     Provided Project leadership on many projects with SODS, CLAS and SIG systems. Key projects included:

  • ISDN Provisioning - SODS system - Automation of building and sending switch commands to automatically provision ISDN circuits in the switches.

  • I2D2 - CLAS & SIG systems - IMS to DB2 Conversion - This was driven by a need for more flexibility to make system changes. By the way, I named this project... Management asked everyone to help come up with a shorter name for it. I thought up and suggested I2D2 (after the R2D2 character on Star Wars) and it was easy to relate to the IMS 2 DB2 conversion. Everyone instantly related to it, so they officially adopted it.

  • ICE Phase II - Automated the sending of physical changes to Network (engineering data on servers), then automatically edit the data for validity and update the Data Warehouse (on servers in the middle) and send it on up to automatically update the provisioning and inventory systems (on the mainframe).

  • SeNNFroGB - Separates the phone #'s from their geographical locations.

  • and contributed to various other projects, as well.

§     Performed dual roles on ICE Phase II as both the CLAS system project leader and as the program manager with oversight for all systems involved.

§     Used Microsoft Project 98 extensively for developing large project plans with integrated systems on varied platforms. Also tracked and reported progress.

§     Served as a team lead on the IMS to DB2 CLAS Conversion project. Helped to document and track issues, report progress to management and raise awareness of problems with suggested solutions or workarounds.

§     Became a trusted source for technical and personnel issues. Assisted management in reviewing resumes, some technical interviews and making recommendations for acquiring new consultants for various projects and positions.
